In a shocking turn of events, the Fort Worth Police Department's Missing Person Unit received notification from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, regarding the identification of long-missing individual Taalibah Fatin Bint Islam. The remains of the missing person were discovered on March 2, 2023, near the 900 block of S. Hughes Ave. in Fort Worth. After extensive DNA testing, the Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the remains as belonging to Taalibah.

Taalibah Fatin Bint Islam was originally reported missing on January 21, 2006, at the age of 20. Her last known sighting was in Fort Worth, Texas, on January 16, 2006. The person who had seen her last was Christopher Revill, her boyfriend and the father of her three-month-old son.

Following her disappearance, Revill dropped off their child with one of Islam's relatives and claimed that the last time he saw her, they had an argument. According to his account, Islam got into a vehicle with an unknown individual and left. However, Revill himself became entangled in another missing person case in October 2016 when he was arrested and charged with kidnapping Typhenie Kae Johnson, his ex-girlfriend. Johnson was last seen in Euless, Texas, on October 10, 2016, after a heated argument with Revill. Revill's explanation for her disappearance paralleled the one he gave for Islam: Johnson supposedly left with an unfamiliar person in a vehicle.

In a subsequent trial, Revill was found guilty of aggravated kidnapping of Typhenie Kae Johnson, leading to a life sentence in prison handed down by the judge. Throughout the ordeal, Islam's family maintained that Revill had been abusive towards her and strongly believed he was involved in her disappearance. However, the police have not officially identified him as a suspect, citing a lack of concrete evidence linking him to Islam's case. As a result, the investigation into Taalibah Fatin Bint Islam's disappearance remains open and unsolved.

The news of Taalibah's identification and the tragic circumstances surrounding her disappearance have brought renewed attention to the case. The Fort Worth Police Department continues to urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in resolving this enduring mystery.
