At around 8:00am this morning, Fort Worth FD and PD along with MedStar EMS were dispatched to a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of Lamar Street and W. 5th Street.
Police investigators say a sedan was traveling southbound on Lamar Street and attempted a lefthand turn onto eastbound 5th Street. A northbound motorcyclist was traveling at an unsafe speed for downtown conditions, according to police, and struck the sedan as it made the turn.
The motorcyclist was transported to a Fort Worth trauma center, but pronounced deceased upon arrival. He has been identified as a 40-year-old man from Fort Worth.
The accident remains under investigation.
