On Thursday, January 4, at approximately 6:48 pm, emergency services in Bedford, including Fire/EMS and Police, swiftly responded to a two-vehicle collision on the westbound lanes of Highway 183, situated between Central Drive and Bedford Road.
The driver and a passenger of one of the involved vehicles sustained life-threatening injuries. Both individuals were rushed to a local hospital, where one was pronounced deceased, while the second is currently in intensive care.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
In response to the incident, westbound lanes of Highway 183 were temporarily closed for several hours to facilitate investigation by Bedford police.
The circumstances surrounding the crash continue to be under investigation by authorities.
