Update on Downtown Fort Worth Explosion: Search and Rescue Operations Continue

The Fort Worth Fire Department provided an update on the explosion that occurred in Downtown Fort Worth yesterday. Search and rescue operations have been ongoing throughout the night and are still underway this morning, utilizing specially trained canines. As of now, no additional victims have been located.

The collaborative efforts of multiple agencies persist in managing the situation. Teams from Atmos Energy, ATF (Dallas Field Office), Fort Worth Police Department, Fort Worth Water, Texas A&M Task Force 1, MedStar, and the City of Fort Worth Transportation & Public Works are actively involved and remain on the scene.

Several road closures are in effect in Downtown Fort Worth to ensure public safety. These closures include:

  • Throckmorton St. closed from W 7th St. to W 9th St.
  • Houston St. closed from W 7th St. to W 9th St.
  • W 8th St. closed from Throckmorton to Main St.

The Fort Worth Fire Department pledges to provide further updates as information becomes available throughout the day.
