This marks the first time a 14-city collaboration in the region has received such a grant.

The funds, valid for 12 months, will benefit over 700 fire department members by providing additional mental health support. The grant will be utilized for Readiness, Response, and Recovery. Readiness involves educating all fire department members and peer teams.

Response focuses on working with peer team members to address the cumulative events experienced by fire department personnel daily.

Recovery aims to ensure culturally competent clinicians and resources are available for fire department members navigating mental health issues.
