In an effort to streamline the reporting process for non-emergency crimes, the Bedford Police Department has launched a new online reporting website. The online platform enables residents and Bedford business owners or employees to easily report various non-emergency incidents.
The crimes that can be reported through the online system include:
- Criminal Information: Animal complaints, city code violations, suspicious person/vehicle/activity, or narcotics information
- Credit Card Fraud: Unauthorized purchases made with credit/debit cards
- Criminal Mischief: Graffiti, knocking over mailbox, throwing rocks through windows, etc.
- Criminal Mischief to Vehicle: Graffiti, keying, scratching, broken windows, slashed tires, etc.
- Harassment
- Hit and Run to a Parked Car
- Identity Theft (Residents Only)
- Lost Property
- Shoplifting (Not in Progress)
- Theft
By utilizing the online reporting system for these non-emergency incidents, residents can contribute to the efficiency of emergency services. Dispatchers will have more capacity to focus on urgent calls, and individuals completing online reports can conveniently print out their completed reports free of charge.
To initiate the reporting process, interested parties can visit www.bedfordtx.gov/PDreport. It is important to note that all cases submitted through this online system will undergo a thorough review by detectives. However, whether or not individuals filing reports will be contacted by a detective depends on the specific circumstances of each case.
In case of emergencies, residents are reminded to call 9-1-1 for immediate assistance.
