Fort Worth Police Appeal for Witnesses in Fatal East Fwy Hit-and-Run Involving 18-Wheeler

The Fort Worth Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in locating witnesses to a hit-and-run incident that resulted in a fatality.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Friday, February 2, 2024, at approximately 2:35 p.m. The victim, driving a gold 2007 Chevrolet 2-door car, was traveling eastbound at 1700 Eastchase Fwy when an unidentified 18-wheeler reportedly veered into the victim's lane, colliding with the left front of the vehicle. The impact caused the victim's car to spin out of control, ultimately striking the guardrail.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased on February 4, 2024.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or who witnessed the incident to come forward and contact Detective Carter at 817-392-4885. The case number for reference is #240008700.

UPDATE: The victim was identified as 26-year-old Loris Ladohn Burns Jr. of Forest Hill.
