A Dallas County Court reached a guilty verdict in an aggravated sexual assault case involving 31-year-old Stephen King of Dallas.
According to court records, on July 21, 2022, King forced a victim into his car while she was panhandling, drove her to a remote area on Arrow Road, sexually assaulted her, and attempted to strike her with a hammer. The victim managed to escape, calling 911 for help. Officers met with the victim and provided a ride for her in order to retrieve her shoes at the scene of the crime.
Upon returning to the scene, they caught King in the act of attempting to sexually assault another girl. King had a history of targeting vulnerable individuals at the same location.
Despite not locating the victims of previous offenses, during the trial, prosecutors were able to introduce evidence of two extraneous offenses that occurred on Arrow Road, supported by SANE exam records and DNA matches to King.
King was found guilty of sexual assault and sentenced to 10 years in prison. The investigating agency was the Lancaster Police Department.
