Midlothian Police Investigate Fatal Shooting, Possible Homicide

On March 5, 2024, at approximately 8:56 PM, Midlothian Police Department patrol officers responded to a shooting report in the 500 block of Chelsea Drive. Telecommunicators from the North Ellis Emergency Dispatch Center were informed by a caller that a male had been shot inside a residence.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Choyce Redmon of Midlothian, was transported to Midlothian Methodist Hospital by medics from the Midlothian Fire Department. He was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Dan Cox.

Authorities are treating the incident as a homicide, although no suspect has been identified. Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored (possibly black) luxury sedan leaving the scene, possibly driving from Chelsea Drive then north on Westminster Drive.

Law enforcement officials urge residents in the area to check personal security footage for any relevant information regarding vehicles matching the description.
