High-Speed Chase in Fort Worth After Suspect Shoots Brother, Ends in Burleson with Arrest

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, at approximately 10:10 a.m., the Fort Worth Police Department responded to a shooting incident reported near the 400 block of Millbrook Ln. The officers arrived on the scene to find an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his lower torso. Immediate medical attention was provided to the victim by Fort Worth Fire and MedStar.

According to authorities, it was revealed that the suspect and the victim were brothers. The suspect had fled the scene with his two young children in a vehicle before the police arrived. A description of the suspect's vehicle was broadcasted over the radio.

Following the broadcast, a Patrol Sergeant reported sighting the suspect's vehicle near FM 1187 in South Fort Worth. Additional units joined the Sergeant, initiating a pursuit.

Despite attempts by law enforcement to stop the vehicle, it continued into the city of Burleson, finally pulling into a church near John Jones and W. County Road 714. The suspect, who was still armed, was successfully detained by officers and taken into custody without further incident.

Fortunately, the two children were found unharmed in the vehicle and were safely returned to their family members.

The investigation into the shooting incident is being led by the Fort Worth Police Gun Violence Unit.
