Luke Resecker, aged 17, faced arraignment before Judge Sydney Hewlett at the 18th District Court on March 26, 2024. He stands accused of six counts of Intoxication Manslaughter, two counts of Intoxication Assault, as well as charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 2) and Possession of Marijuana. Bail was set at $50,000, and Resecker was placed under monitored home confinement due to an ongoing medical condition preventing his booking into Johnson County Jail. He posted bail and was subsequently released.

The charges stem from a major car crash that occurred on December 26, 2023. Resecker was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on US 67, south of Cleburne, Texas, when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2021 Honda Odyssey traveling north on the same route.
