Irving Police Escort Fallen Corpus Christi Officer Kyle Hicks for Organ Donation Legacy

Today, the Irving Police Department joined hands with Corpus Christi Officers to honor the legacy of fallen Officer Kyle Hicks. Hicks, a North Texas native, was transported back to the area to donate his organs after he was shot on April 20, 2024, while responding to a call of domestic disturbance in Corpus Christi. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Hicks succumbed to his injuries on April 23. The suspect, Colton Foster, was shot and killed by responding officers.

Escorted by Irving Police motors unit, Corpus Christi Officers, and other units, Hicks's journey to the Southwest Transplant Alliance in Dallas was a solemn tribute to his sacrifice. Hicks, who served with the Corpus Christi Police for two years, leaves behind his wife and four children. His decision to donate his organs reflects his dedication to saving lives, echoing his commitment to service even in death.
