Irving VFW to kick off Buddy Poppy Campaign

Members of VFW Post 2494, the Ladies Auxiliary, Men’s Auxiliary and Junior Girls Unit will begin their annual Buddy Poppy Campaign on Friday, April 3rd to run through Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th.

Dinners will be served every Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM and Breakfast will be served every Sunday from 9 AM to Noon.  For menus and cost, call the Post.

On April 18th beginning at 6 PM there will be a Loyalty Day and Buddy Poppy Program with Proclamations from the cities of Irving and Grand Prairie.  This will be followed at 7 PM by the annual Post Talent Show featuring members and friends of the Post. There will also be in-house fundraisers including the sale of "Buddy Poppy Plates and Wreaths", bake sales, silent auctions, etc.

The public is invited to attend all these functions. The final push will be over Memorial Day week-end beginning on Friday, May 22nd through Memorial Day with volunteers at 5 locations in Irving collecting donations from the public.

All proceeds from the Campaign will be placed in the Post & Auxiliaries Relief Funds to be used for patients at the Dallas V.A. Medical center, the Avante Rehab Center, as well as other Veterans who may be in need in our area.
