On September 13, 2024, a Tarrant County jury found 50-year-old Catrina Renee Guy of Saginaw guilty of murder and sentenced her to 39 years in prison. Guy was convicted of fatally shooting 50-year-old William Prygon eight times on April 11, 2019, in a field on his own property.
Police responded to the scene after a shooting was reported in the 7700 block of Jacksboro Highway, near Lake Worth in northwestern Fort Worth. Guy, who has previous convictions for assaulting a teacher and stabbing another woman, was arrested following an investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department.
Assistant District Attorneys Lisa Callaghan and D.J. Estes prosecuted the case.
