The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office has announced that 57-year-old Michael Jerod Williams was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. The conviction follows an incident that occurred on April 25, 2021.
Around 1:30 AM on that date, Williams approached 62-year-old Harold Yazzie, who was sitting in his truck at a Fort Worth apartment complex. Williams stole Yazzie's cell phone and wallet during the confrontation. When Yazzie attempted to defend himself, Williams shot him in the leg.
Yazzie was subsequently taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The Fort Worth Police Department conducted the investigation into the case.
