On Sunday, October 6, 2024, at approximately 3:15 AM, Fort Worth police, fire, and Medstar EMS responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Northwest 24th Street near North Main Street in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found 18-year-old Joseph Steven Padilla of Weatherford shot in the parking lot of a business at the location. Padilla was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other individuals were also found with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, at least one suspect fired into a crowd before fleeing the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
