Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon in Fort Worth

The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office announced that 36-year-old Stephen Daughton has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On March 10, 2023, Daughton shot another man in the lower abdomen before fleeing the scene with the firearm. The victim underwent multiple surgeries, and the bullet remains lodged in his body.

Daughton has previous convictions in Maryland. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Neal Maranto and Zachary Ashford, with DA investigator James Desmarais and victim coordinator Elizabeth Garcia. The Fort Worth Police Department led the investigation.
