The Arlington Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a man discovered in a South Arlington home on Monday, October 21, 2024. Around 2:00 p.m., patrol officers were flagged down by a man who reported finding a body inside a residence in the 300 block of Kingfisher Lane. He had gone to check on a family friend after relatives expressed concern.
Officers entered the home and found the deceased male in the living room with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the man had been dead for several days due to the condition of the body. Relatives of the home’s tenant said they last heard from him on Saturday afternoon, prompting the welfare check.
Detectives found no signs of forced entry but suspect that high-risk drug activity may be linked to the case based on evidence collected at the scene.
There is no suspect information at this time, and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective VanTreeck at (817) 459-5691. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.
