The City of Fort Worth is alerting residents about upcoming traffic disruptions related to the demolition of a pedestrian bridge near I-820, between Meadowbrook Drive and Lancaster Avenue. The demolition is scheduled for next week, with several closures and lane reductions planned to ensure safety during the project.
Demolition Schedule and Traffic Closures:

Monday, 11/18 (Night): Demolition of the northbound portion of the bridge, affecting the median between I-820 main lanes and the frontage road.
- Northbound entrance ramps from Craig St. and Lancaster Ave. will be closed.
- Single right lane closure on northbound I-820.

Tuesday, 11/19 (Night): Cleanup and sorting of rubble from the first demolition section.
- Northbound entrance ramps from Craig St. and Lancaster Ave. closed.
- Single right lane closure on northbound I-820.

Wednesday, 11/20 (Night): Demolition of the southbound portion of the bridge.
- Southbound I-820 exit ramps to Craig St. and Lancaster Ave. closed.
- Single right lane closure on southbound I-820.

Thursday, 11/21 (Night): Cleanup and sorting of rubble from the second demolition section.

Saturday, 11/23 (Night): Final demolition of bridge portions over I-820 main lanes.
- Southbound I-820 reduced to one lane between Meadowbrook Dr. and Lancaster Ave.
- Periodic "slow roll" of live traffic lanes to safely remove debris.
If weather delays occur, work may be extended to Sunday night, 11/24.
Detour Information:
- Northbound traffic: Use Meadowbrook Dr. to enter or turn around.
- Southbound traffic: Use Rosedale St. to enter or turn around.
