Habitual Offender Sentenced to 37 Years for High-Speed Pursuit in Fort Worth

JB Johnson

On November 18, 2024, JB Johnson, 39, was sentenced to 37 years in prison after being found guilty of evading arrest with a vehicle. The conviction stems from an incident on January 3, 2024, when Johnson led Fort Worth police on a high-speed chase through public streets.

Johnson was driving a U-Haul van, speeding, running stop signs, and disregarding a red light while attempting to evade officers. The pursuit continued until police were able to apprehend him in the Hemphill neighborhood.

Johnson's lengthy criminal history, which includes multiple prior offenses, contributed to the severity of his sentence.
