Texas Trust Credit Union has announced plans to move its headquarters to 1531 North Cooper St. in Arlington, bringing significant investment and job creation to the city. The $15 million project will include major upgrades to the building, such as HVAC and elevator system updates, lobby renovations, and exterior enhancements.
The Arlington City Council approved a tax abatement agreement with Texas Trust on November 19, granting a 75% abatement on the increased property value for 10 years. The agreement is contingent on Texas Trust meeting improvement and employment benchmarks by the end of 2025, including creating 175 jobs by mid-2026.
Josh Mejia, economic development specialist for the City of Arlington, praised the partnership, stating, “From the outset, we’ll see significant capital investment in a well-known building site, growth in the company’s employee base, and the initiation of Class A development that will attract more corporations to our community.”
Texas Trust Credit Union, founded in Arlington in 1936, will relocate its headquarters to the highly visible intersection of I-30 and Cooper Street. Gus Garcia, Arlington’s director of economic development, highlighted the importance of the move, calling it a “major investment in Arlington” that will bolster the city’s position in the DFW metroplex and drive further redevelopment.
Renovations to the headquarters site are expected to commence soon as Texas Trust embarks on this transformative expansion.
