FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating a homicide after an adult man was found fatally shot Sunday night in west Fort Worth.
Officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at approximately 9:54 p.m. on June 7 in the 100 block of Nursery Lane near White Settlement Road.
When officers arrived, they found an adult male lying in the roadway with at least one apparent gunshot wound.
Police officers and Fort Worth Fire Department personnel provided medical aid, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said several witnesses in the area reported hearing gunshots and seeing a possible suspect leave the location following the shooting.
Authorities have detained one person of interest as the investigation continues.
The identity of the victim has not been released. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the victim's identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
