IRVING, Texas - An Irving man is facing multiple felony drug charges after an undercover narcotics investigation led detectives to seize hundreds of grams of marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, THC products and nearly $20,000 in cash from his residence, police said.
The investigation began on July 7 when an undercover officer with the Irving Police Department, working in an undercover capacity, arranged to purchase marijuana from 22-year-old Edwin Issac Flores.
At approximately 2:37 p.m., the undercover officer met Flores in the parking lot of Lone Star Liquor in the 2800 block of Glenwick Lane in South Irving, near W. Hunter Ferrell Road.
According to police, Flores arrived in a Toyota Corolla, exited the vehicle and approached the driver's side of the undercover officer's vehicle. Flores allegedly handed the officer a clear plastic sandwich bag containing approximately 15.4 grams of marijuana in exchange for $80 before leaving the area.
Detectives continued the investigation and arranged a second controlled purchase on July 15 at approximately 3:44 p.m. at the same location.
Because of the weather, police said the transaction was conducted through the drivers' side windows of both vehicles. Flores allegedly sold the undercover officer another bag containing approximately 28 grams of marijuana for $160 before leaving. The marijuana purchased during the investigation was submitted to a crime laboratory for analysis.
A third undercover purchase was conducted on July 20 at approximately 3:25 p.m. at the same location, according to investigators.
After documenting multiple alleged drug transactions, detectives obtained a search warrant for Flores' residence.
On July 22, members of the Irving Police Department Narcotics Unit executed the search warrant at a home in the 2200 block of Rita Court, a short distance from where the undercover purchases had taken place.
During the search, investigators said they located approximately 693.1 grams of marijuana, 97.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 98 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) products and $19,957 in cash.
Police said all of the narcotics were recovered from Flores' bedroom along with his Texas identification card.
Flores was arrested and charged with:

His total bond was set at $701,000.
Investigators later learned Flores was already out on bond for a previous arrest involving charges of driving while intoxicated and drug possession. As a result, he remains in custody after being transferred to the Dallas County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
