Irving Woman High on Drugs Arrested After Biting, Kicking and Scratching Officers

IRVING, Texas - A 32-year-old woman faces multiple felony charges after Irving police say she resisted officers responding to a domestic disturbance and later assaulted three detention officers at the Irving Jail.

Irving police responded Sept. 1 to the Tierra Del Sol Apartments in the 1100 block of North O'Connor Road, across from Irving High School.

The 911 caller told police his cousin, identified as Enisha Hunnicutt, was behaving abnormally and that he wanted her removed from his residence.

When officers arrived, they found Hunnicutt extremely agitated and aggressive, according to the police report. Officers said she was sweating heavily, yelling, talking over them and having difficulty communicating coherently or controlling her behavior.

Based on her behavior, officers suspected Hunnicutt might be under the influence of PCP and believed she posed an immediate danger to herself or others. Police detained her for safety.

A records check subsequently showed Hunnicutt had two outstanding Class C warrants from the Dallas Marshal's Office, and officers placed her under arrest.

Police said Hunnicutt resisted as officers attempted to escort her to a patrol vehicle. She refused to walk, dropped to the ground, twisted and squirmed and kicked open the patrol vehicle's door.

Once inside, Hunnicutt began striking her head against the rear seat, according to police. Officers placed protective headgear and leg restraints on her, and an officer accompanied her during the trip to the Irving Jail.

Police said the struggle continued after Hunnicutt arrived at the jail.

Hunnicutt is accused of assaulting three detention officers, biting one on the leg, kicking another and scratching a third. Police reported that each officer experienced pain from the assaults.

In addition to the outstanding warrants, Hunnicutt was charged with resisting arrest and three counts of assault on a public servant.

Hunnicutt was later transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where she remains in custody. Her bonds total $401,500.

Jail records also list additional holds or charges involving a probation violation stemming from a previous controlled substance conviction and a violation of bond or protective order involving assault or stalking.

Court conditions also require Hunnicutt to be placed on electronic monitoring if she is released.
