Irving Police responded to a disturbance call at 8:30 p.m. monday night in the parking lot of the 1400 block of Beltline Rd.
Upon the first officer’s arrival it was determined that there had been a shooting at the location. Initial indications are that the victim, a 60-year-old Dallas man, was in front of the El Comal restaurant when a man, dressed in black, walked up and shot him several times with a handgun. The suspect then fled the scene in a black four-door vehicle.
The victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending family notification.
UPDATE: The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 65-year-old Alfredo Rosales, owner of El Comal Restaurant. Police do not think the motive was robbery.
The victim was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators are currently working through the facts and evidence of this case to determine a possible motive and a more detailed suspect description.
