A woman was killed in a road rage shooting on Monday night.
The shooting occurred at around 9:18pm in the 1400 block of West Hurst Blvd. Police say the woman, who has not been identified, was driving with her husband in a maroon 2017 KIA mini-van northbound on East Loop 820 when they were involved in a road rage incident with another vehicle. An occupant of the other vehicle fired several shots at them, striking the woman in the head.
The woman was transported to JPS Hospital by Hurst Fire Department medics, where she was later pronounced deceased. The suspect vehicle was described as a small, dark-colored older model car.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Paola Nunez Linares. Linares' husband, Zane Jones, admitted to local news media that he made an obscene gesture at the other driver after a near-collision. Linares had been in the U.S. for two years and is a native of Guatemala.
