A tragic incident unfolded in Duncanville on Monday morning, as authorities responded to a distressing call. At around 10:40 a.m., the Duncanville Police Department rushed to a residence in the 1500 block of Lime Leaf Ln. following reports of a small child being attacked by a dog.
Upon arrival, Duncanville police officers and paramedics immediately commenced life-saving procedures on the unconscious child. Due to the severity of the injuries, Duncanville police officers facilitated an emergency escort while the child was transported to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas by Duncanville Medics. Despite their efforts, the child was pronounced deceased shortly after reaching the hospital.
In response to the incident, Duncanville Animal Control intervened and took possession of the dog involved. Currently, authorities are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack. There is potential for criminal charges to be pursued pending the completion of the investigation.
