April 17, 2024: At around 6:15 a.m. yesterday morning, Dallas Police were called to the 800 block of East 12th Street, close to the Dallas Zoo in East Oak Cliff, in response to reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old Datwon Giddings with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of Dallas Fire Rescue, Giddings succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities working to gather more information. The case is expected to be presented to a Grand Jury for further review.
