Vehicle Pursuit in North Richland Hills Leads to Detention and Recovery

A vehicle pursuit in North Richland Hills unfolded this afternoon, resulting in one detention, the recovery of a stolen vehicle, and the removal of a stolen gun from the streets.

The incident commenced around 2:15 PM when North Richland Hills officers attempted to stop a vehicle reported stolen in the 7900 block of Boulevard 26. The vehicle, however, failed to comply with the stop. It proceeded onto Loop 820 heading west, exiting onto US 377. Haltom City Police officers deployed Stop Sticks successfully, disabling two of the vehicle's tires.

Despite the attempt to immobilize the vehicle, it continued into Fort Worth, eventually crashing into an unoccupied parked vehicle near Western Center Boulevard and Dandelion Drive. Three individuals, identified as black males, were observed fleeing on foot into the nearby neighborhood.

Law enforcement officers swiftly initiated a search of the area, aided by Fort Worth patrol officers and Fort Worth Air One. During the operation, one juvenile suspect was located and detained, while the other two remained at large. A backpack found during the search yielded a stolen handgun.

Amidst the pursuit, a collision involving a North Richland Hills police car occurred at the intersection of NE Loop 820 and US 377. The collision resulted in minor injuries to a civilian involved, while the occupants of the police car remained uninjured.
