Fort Worth Police Respond to Shooting at Apartment Complex in Western Hills, Several Young Victims Injured

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Fort Worth Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located in the 3000 block of Las Vegas Trail in the Western Hills area.

Upon arrival at approximately 7:38 p.m., officers found several victims with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the complex. The victims, aged between three and 19 years old, suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe.

Officers immediately provided medical assistance in conjunction with the Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar. All victims, with the exception of one who refused transportation due to minor injuries, were taken to area hospitals. The current condition of the victims remains unknown.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, a suspect vehicle was spotted in the vicinity, from which one or more individuals fired shots towards the victims. The incident is believed to be isolated, with no apparent threat to the general public.

The Gun Violence Unit is leading the investigation, with officers on the scene gathering information and searching for the suspect vehicle and individual(s) involved.
