Man Receives 25 Year Sentence for Assaulting Girlfriend, Attempting to Gouge Her Eyes

In Tarrant County, Texas, 51-year-old Curtis Pyle was convicted and sentenced to 25 years in prison for assaulting a family member, a crime he had previously been convicted of. The verdict was delivered by a Tarrant County jury on April 30, 2024.

The incident leading to Pyle's conviction occurred on July 6, 2021, when he engaged in a physical altercation with his girlfriend.

During the altercation, Pyle damaged property by smashing a microwave and breaking a phone. Additionally, he physically assaulted his girlfriend by punching and scratching her face, and attempted to harm her by gouging her eyes.

The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office made the announcement of the successful verdict against the violent man.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Jaimie Jernigan and Ashton Moore.
