In the early hours of Sunday, May 5th, a distress call to 911 reported a vehicle trapped in swiftly moving waters off CR 528 in Johnson County. The vehicle carried two adults and a 5-year-old boy. Witnessing the occupants' attempt to flee on foot, the caller saw them swept away by the floodwaters.
Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Fire Department, and Johnson County Emergency Management initiated a search and rescue operation. By 5 am, both adults were rescued and rushed to the hospital.
Tragically, the body of the 5-year-old boy was discovered in the water around 7:20 am.
UPDATE: The child was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as Lucas Nathaniel Warren of Burleson.
