A 22-year-old man was killed in a suspected DWI crash Saturday night on Interstate 20 near Bowen Road, leading to the arrest of three individuals.
At approximately 7:36 p.m. on March 22, 2025, Arlington police responded to a crash involving a pickup truck and a car in the eastbound lanes of I-20. When officers arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames. Arlington firefighters extinguished the fire and discovered the remains of the 22-year-old man inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that the victim’s car was stopped on the inside shoulder when a pickup truck veered off the main lanes and crashed into the back of the vehicle. The impact pushed the car into a concrete wall, igniting the fire.
Witnesses reported seeing three men exit the pickup truck and flee on foot. Officers located all three nearby and took them into custody.
The driver of the pickup, identified as 25-year-old Cesar Ramirez Castro, was arrested after officers suspected he was intoxicated. Following roadside sobriety tests, he was booked into the Arlington City Jail on charges of Intoxication Manslaughter and Collision Involving Death. He also has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold due to his illegal status in the country.
Officers obtained a search warrant for a blood sample from Ramirez Castro, which has been sent for analysis.
The two passengers in the pickup, 30-year-old Marcelino Ramirez-Ramirez and 24-year-old Daniel Castro Zammarron, were arrested and booked on charges of Public Intoxication.
