The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in the 3800 block of Great Basin Lane.
Officers from the South Division responded to the scene after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim inside an apartment suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his torso. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, the victim and suspect were possibly engaged in gambling outside the apartment when the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim at least once. The victim ran into a nearby apartment while the suspect fled the scene on foot.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active. The Fort Worth Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Homicide Unit is leading the case.
