Man Killed in Fort Worth Shooting While Riding in Vehicle

FORT WORTH, TX – Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday evening in the South Division.

Officers responded at 6:35 p.m. on October 11 to the 2700 block of Woodmont Trail after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim had been a passenger in a vehicle near the intersection of the 6500 block of Brookhaven Trail and Altamesa Boulevard when an unknown suspect opened fire from another vehicle, striking both the victim and the car he was in.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
