LUCAS, TX – The Collin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of gunfire during a large juvenile gathering late Saturday night in Lucas.
Just after 10:00 p.m. on October 11, 2025, deputies responded to the 500 block of Mark Drive following multiple 911 calls about a loud party and possible underage drinking. As deputies were en route, additional callers reported hearing gunshots in or near the residence.
Witnesses told investigators that unknown individuals in a vehicle stopped in the roadway, fired a weapon in an unknown direction, and then fled the scene. When deputies arrived, they dispersed the crowd and checked the area for potential threats. No injuries were reported.
Deputies also received reports of a person seen walking through a nearby yard carrying what appeared to be a long gun. A perimeter was established with help from the Fairview Police Department, and aerial support from the Texas Department of Public Safety was used to search the area. Despite those efforts, no suspects were found.
The investigation is ongoing, though authorities say there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collin County Sheriff’s Office at (972) 547-5350.
