In the early morning hours of Friday, May 30, 2025, Mansfield Police responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of Woodbridge Trail. A 911 caller, identified as a male victim, reported that his wife, who was intoxicated, had shot him inside their home.
According to police, the victim sustained two gunshot wounds and told dispatchers he had been fired upon approximately ten times. Despite his injuries, he managed to flee the residence and seek help.
Officers arrived around 1:40 a.m. and immediately rendered aid. An EMT-certified Mansfield Police Officer provided emergency medical care until paramedics from the Mansfield Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
The female suspect, who remained inside the home, engaged in communication with a Mansfield Police Crisis Negotiator and was peacefully taken into custody. She was later transported to the Mansfield Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault / Family Violence.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are actively investigating the incident. The residence was secured following the suspect’s arrest.
