On Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office carried out a "Prostitution Demand Suppression Operation" targeting individuals attempting to purchase sexual services.
The operation resulted in four arrests:

John Holland of Alvord was charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor,

Nicholas Matt of Denton and Patrick Smith of Dallas were arrested for Solicitation of Prostitution. Matt also faces an additional charge of Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
The Denton County Human Trafficking Unit is continuing to follow up on leads identified during the operation involving suspected prostitution activity.
