FORT WORTH, TX — The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office reports that Diego Galvan, 21, has pled guilty to murder and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
On July 2, 2023, Galvan, who was 19 at the time, shot Ricardo Rojas, 35, three times in the torso and left lower leg in the parking lot of a gas station near East First and Beach streets. Rojas was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he died approximately 45 minutes later, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fort Worth Police responded to the scene, and the case was prosecuted by James Zaleta and Sierra Woodard on behalf of the District Attorney’s Office.
Galvan will serve his sentence at a Tarrant County correctional facility.
