Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland Found Dead in Frisco After Police Chase

FRISCO, TX - The Frisco Police Department released information into the death of Marshawn Kneeland.  According to their news release, a man was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound early Thursday morning following a police pursuit that led to a multi-agency search in Frisco.

The incident began on Thursday night, November 5th, at around 10:39 p.m., when Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers attempted to stop a vehicle that had fled during a pursuit entering Frisco city limits. Troopers later located the vehicle, which had crashed on southbound Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway.

According to police, the driver, identified as 24-year-old Marshawn Kneeland of Plano, Texas, fled the scene on foot after the crash. Frisco officers joined the search, setting up a perimeter and using both K-9 and drone units to assist in locating him.

During the search, investigators received information that Kneeland had made statements indicating suicidal thoughts. Around 1:31 a.m., officers found him deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Police said no further information would be released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.

“Our heartfelt condolences to the Kneeland family and friends,” the department said in a statement.
