Juvenile Killed After Vehicle Struck by Train in Haltom City

FORT WORTH, TX – A juvenile was killed and an adult injured after a vehicle was hit by a TRE train Wednesday afternoon near Elliot Reeder Road and Colony Court.

Around 3:45 p.m., Haltom City Fire, Fort Worth Fire, and Fort Worth Police responded to the crash. Officers arrived to find a vehicle that had been struck by a train.

According to early findings, the vehicle, occupied by an adult and a juvenile, attempted to drive around an activated train barricade when it was hit.

The juvenile was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as unknown.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once next of kin are notified. The investigation continues.
