On Thursday, November 20, federal DEA agents and Irving Police narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at the Chivas West Apartments in the 1700 block of N. Britain Road as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. The warrant was served in the afternoon with assistance from the Irving SWAT team.
During the search, investigators spoke with the resident, 61-year-old Ana M. Morales. According to investigators, Morales led DEA agents and an Irving narcotics officer to the living room and pointed out two clear plastic storage bins, saying they contained narcotics. She then opened one of the bins and identified two plastic bags inside: one holding 206.9 grams of cocaine, and the other containing 498 grams of cocaine.
Inside the second bin, agents found another clear plastic bag holding 790 grams of methamphetamine.
As the apartment’s renter, Morales is legally responsible for the contents stored inside the unit. Based on the significant quantity of narcotics recovered, she is facing two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1, both first-degree felonies under Texas law.
The investigation remains active, and additional arrests are anticipated. Morales has since bonded out of jail.
