Campión Trail’s canoe launch now open

The City of Irving opened the canoe launch at T.W. Richardson Park on Sept. 26 for residents and visitors to use. The launch suffered some damage from the flooding in May, which the city plans to repair. In the meantime, the city has placed temporary safety barriers to protect users who are entering and exiting the Trinity River. Residents are reminded to proceed with caution while using the canoe launch.

The northern section of Campión Trail is now partially open for runners, bicyclists and nature enthusiasts. Users are welcome to use the concrete trails from Sam Houston Trail Park to California Crossing, except for a small area between Northwest Highway and California Crossing, which remains closed for a manhole repair. Trail users should turn around and return towards their starting point when they reach this part of the trail.
