The University of Texas at Arlington Police Department (UTA PD) has been reaccredited by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), marking its fifth reaccreditation since first earning the recognition in 2010. This distinction places UTA PD among the top 1.5% of college and university police departments accredited by IACLEA, the leading authority in campus public safety.
The rigorous accreditation process involves a thorough review of the agency’s policies, procedures, and a site visit to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Accreditation is granted for a four-year period, with periodic updates required between formal evaluations.
Chief Kim Lemaux expressed pride in the department’s achievement, stating, “This reaccreditation reflects our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of campus safety and law enforcement. It is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of every member of the UT Arlington Police Department.”
In addition to IACLEA accreditation, UTA PD also holds Advanced Accreditation with Excellence from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), achieved earlier in 2024.
IACLEA, the largest professional association for campus public safety, represents over 1,000 higher education institutions across 31 countries, with a membership exceeding 9,000 public safety leaders.
