The Arlington Police Department has arrested 28-year-old Luigin Alberto Perez-Millan in connection to a deadly shooting outside a nightclub in the 3200 block of Justiss Drive on November 17, 2024. After an extensive investigation, including physical and digital evidence, police obtained arrest warrants for Perez-Millan on charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
On Saturday, December 28, 2024, members of the U.S. Marshals Service and Nebraska State Police apprehended Perez-Millan in Seward County, NE. Authorities stopped him on a highway and took him into custody without incident. The arrest followed a detailed investigation, which involved witness testimonies and surveillance footage that helped authorities pinpoint Perez-Millan as the suspect.
According to investigators, Perez-Millan and the victim, 22-year-old Janderver Urbina-Betancourt, were both attending an event at the nightclub on the early morning of November 17. Around 5:25 a.m., Urbina-Betancourt and another individual became involved in an argument in the parking lot of the club. Shortly afterward, multiple gunshots were fired. Urbina-Betancourt was struck and pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Witnesses later came forward, corroborating the physical and digital evidence that led police to identify Perez-Millan as the shooter. It was determined that for an unknown reason, Perez-Millan opened fire in the direction of both Urbina-Betancourt and the individual he had been arguing with. That individual was not injured but later identified Perez-Millan as the shooter during a photo lineup.
Further investigation revealed no prior connection between Perez-Millan and Urbina-Betancourt, suggesting the shooting was not premeditated. The other person involved in the argument was also charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon for being shot at during the incident.
Perez-Millan is currently held in the Seward County Detention Center in Nebraska and awaits extradition to Texas.
