Man Sentenced to 99 Years for Aggravated Robberies in Arlington and North Richland Hills

Cletus Ray Malone Jr.

On February 10, 2025, a Tarrant County jury convicted 63-year-old Cletus Ray Malone Jr. of aggravated robbery, sentencing him to 99 years in prison.

The conviction stems from an incident on June 5, 2023, when Malone entered a grocery store in North Richland Hills, pulled out a firearm, and demanded money from a cashier. He threatened her with harm, claiming she would get herself and others hurt if she reported the robbery. Malone left the store with more than $900 in a plastic grocery bag.

The jury also heard details of two other aggravated robberies Malone committed in June 2023 in Arlington, adding to the severity of the charges.

The case was investigated by the North Richland Hills and Arlington Police Departments. Prosecutors Anthony Salinas and Ashlea Deener led the case against Malone.
