American Airlines Joins U.S. and U.K. in One Stop Security Pilot Program

American Airlines has partnered with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the U.K. Department for Transport (DfT) to launch One Stop Security (OSS), a new pilot program aimed at streamlining international connections through London Heathrow Airport (LHR).

The program, which began on February 4, allows travelers connecting from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to international (non-U.K.) destinations through Terminals 3 or 5 at LHR to bypass additional security screening. The initiative is designed to reduce connection times and enhance the overall travel experience.

“American Airlines is thrilled to be working with the U.S. and U.K. governments to roll out a first-of-its-kind security agreement that will provide our customers a more seamless and secure flying experience,” said Nate Gatten, Chief Government Affairs Officer for American. “This partnership simplifies international air travel for our customers, and we look forward to opportunities to expand it to more airports, including from LHR to DFW, in the future.”

David Seymour, American’s Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the practical benefits of OSS, stating, “A convenient connection experience, fewer missed connections, and a reduction in mishandled baggage will all be tangible, immediate impacts our customers won’t just see, but they’ll feel.”

As one of the founding partners, American Airlines worked closely with both governments to implement the program. LHR serves as the airline’s largest European gateway, connecting hundreds of passengers daily. The airline hopes to expand the OSS initiative to additional routes in the future.
