Waco police have arrested 74-year-old Tony Nichols in connection with the February 8, 2025, bank robbery on Hewitt Drive. Nichols has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Investigation & Arrest
Waco PD Special Crimes Detectives identified Nichols by first tracking the suspect’s vehicle, a white Toyota Tundra, through a comprehensive search of custom tires and wheels seen on surveillance footage.
The Waco Police Department credited the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for their assistance in the case, which led to Nichols’ arrest. Nichols has been charged with Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon and his bond has been set at $100,000.
Original Incident – February 8, 2025
Officers responded to an armed robbery at a bank in the 800 block of Hewitt Drive at 11:25 a.m. Surveillance footage showed a white male entering the business and robbing it at gunpoint, taking an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.
The suspect was seen wearing white pants, a gray shirt, a gray jacket, and a black mask. No injuries were reported.
