A fatal accident occurred early this morning on Mustang Drive in Grapevine, Texas. At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, a white Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound in the 2500 block of Mustang Drive near Heritage when it veered off the road and struck a tree in the median. The vehicle caught fire and was engulfed in flames by the time officers arrived on the scene.
Firefighters arrived shortly after and extinguished the fire. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The medical examiner will release the driver's identity following notification of next of kin.
A portion of Mustang Drive was closed this morning while police examined the scene and cleared debris. The crash remains under investigation.
