A shooting incident on Saturday, February 22, 2025, resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to another individual after stray bullets struck them in their backyard.

Forest Hill Police Department officers responded to a shooting at a residence in the 3900 block of Frisco Ave. at approximately 7:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they found two victims who had been struck by stray bullets.

Preliminary investigations indicate the victims, adult siblings, were struck by a bullet fired from an area approximately one block north of the residence. Responding officers, with assistance from the Forest Hill Fire Department and MedStar Ambulance personnel, attempted life-saving measures.

The deceased victim has been identified as 36-year-old Maria Marisela Trujillo-Camarillo.

Authorities emphasize this incident is isolated and unrelated to a separate shooting on Mansfield Hwy.
